WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW AT THE NSRWA!
New Year's Day Walk

Since 1996, the NSRWA has sponsored a New Year's Day Walk, inviting members and the public to join us and explore a new or favorite conservation land. The walk has grown immensely in popularity, attracting over 100 people regardless of the temperature. The walkers join together at the end to enjoy hearty refreshments and hot chocolate.
WaterWatch Lecture Series
Every winter, the North and South Rivers Watershed Association, the South Shore Natural Science Center, and Mass Audubon present the Water Watch Lecture Series. The NSRWA has been a proud partner of this Lecture Series since 1993. The Series takes place every Wednesday evening, from mid January through the end of March, at the South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell. This fascinating series has something for everyone. Members and the general public are encouraged to attend. Admission is free of charge.
Kayak and Outdoor Adventure Expo
The Expo features kayak experts presenting slide shows of paddling adventures and information about up coming paddling trips, major vendors of kayaks & equipment, local boat building classes with wooden kayaks in various stages of construction, kayak clubs, paddling videos, lectures and displays & discussion of camping gear and techniques and paddling videos.
There is something for everyone - from those getting started in the sport, a novice or an experienced paddler. Kayak experts are on hand to answer your questions about the appropriate boat and gear for you, with the newest kayaks and equipment at all different price ranges. This is an opportunity to learn where to get instruction for all ages, skill levels as well as kayak rentals and paddling trips.
River Clean Up Day
Since 1987, the NSRWA has sponsored a spring River Clean Up Day where volunteers come out by foot, truck or boat and scour the banks of the North & South Rivers and their tributaries to remove debris. Volunteers check in at one of the designated clean up stations, where station chiefs distribute empty garbage bags and plastic gloves, and take back any trash collected. The clean up participants are invited to attend a celebratory (free) cookout at the Scituate's Driftway Conservation Area.
Yoga at the River's Edge
Enjoy Yoga by the edge of the North or South Rivers every Saturday from mid June to late August. Yoga is a delightful way to begin a summer's day, reduce stress and increase muscle tone. Kezia Bacon Bernstein leads this program. Proceeds benefit the NSRWA.
River Adventures Camp

Since the summer of 2001, the NSRWA offered summer fun and adventure on the river for youths and their parents. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, overnight camping, safety skills, water quality sampling, tidepool exploration, plant and critter identification, and leadership development.
The Great River Race
Since 1991, the NSRWA has sponsored a Great River Race in August on the beautiful North River starting at the Union St Bridge in Norwell/Marshfield and ending at the Old Washington St. Bridge in Hanover/Pembroke. All skill levels, from novice to racer, are invited to participate in the race that is approximately 6 ½ miles long. Non-motorized vessels including canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and rafts participate in the race piloted by people of all ages. (Participants 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.) The race is fun, challenging and a great way as an individual, or with friends and family, to enjoy the rivers and support the NSRWA. After the race an Awards Celebration is held, where trophies and ribbons are bestowed on the winners.
