A great afternoon to celebrate a great person!
It was a lovely afternoon at Plymouth’s newly renovated Stephens Field Park. There were family activities, special guests, and local food and drinks. The NSRWA was there to see Douglass Gray speak and cut the ribbon to the new playground named in his honor. Doug has been a longtime supporter of the NSRWA, as well as other local watersheds, open spaces, and natural areas in and around our South Shore communities.
For over 25 years, Doug was the superintendent of Plymouth’s Parks Department. Throughout his time there, he was an advocate for land conservation and protection of local wildlife such as piping plovers and river herring. Doug also directly impacted the North and South Rivers though Billington Sea Kayak shop’s kayak auction, simply being a fantastic equipment and paddle sport store, and keeping the NSRWA’s outdoor recreation programs up to date with quality gear.
A very special Thank You to a very special person of the South Shore!
