Know Your Local Waters Guided Walk: North River at Couch Beach
Tuesday, October 29
1:00-2:30pm
Couch Beach, 629 Union Street, Marshfield
with Kezia Bacon and Brian Taylor
Meet at Couch Cemetery, 629 Union Street, Marshfield. Join Kezia Bacon and Brian Taylor from the North and South Rivers Watershed Association for a guided walk at one of Marshfield’s best kept secrets – Couch Beach on the North River. We’ll meet at Couch Memorial Cemetery and enjoy a round-trip walk to the river and back (less than a mile total). The view from the pine forest at the river’s edge is one of the prettiest in town! Along the way, Kezia and Brian will share facts about the river, the salt marsh, and the woodlands and wildlife nearby, as well as some local history. The trail is wide and relatively flat, although some sections might be muddy, or bumpy with tree roots.
Look for the small parking area and metal gate on the right, about 2/3 of the way down the cemetery’s main road. NSRWA will help you find a good place to park.
To sign up, visit the front desk at the Marshfield Senior Center (230 Webster Street).
Limit 20 people
