NSRWA's 28th Annual New Year's Day Walk!

Join the NSRWA on the 28th Annual New Year’s Day Walk around the Indian Head River Trails in Hanover. On Saturday, January 1, from 1:00 to 3:00pm the NSRWA will have several stations set up for you to visit. This will be a self guided “choose your own adventure” walk, meaning you can go to any station in any order and walk any of the trails at your own pace! Come by anytime between 1:00 to 3:00pm to visit the stations and learn interesting local ecology, history, and more. Good for any age, and great for the whole family!

You can drive or walk to each station. Feel free to walk the entire Indian Head Trail System. Event volunteers and staff can help direct you or provide assistance as needed.

Parking is available at each station.  If you intend to hike to each station please park at Luddam’s Ford Park or across the street along Indian Head Drive in Hanover.

1. Luddam’s Ford Park – Local ecology, dams and their impacts, river herring health and populations. Wildlands Trust will also have a station here to highlight the Indian Head Trail Coalition work and provide maps.

2. Indian Head Canoe Launch and Iron Mine Brook Trails – Local History, Paddling the North River, and tides.

3. Waterman Tack Factory – Mill history, Project Dale, local industry and its change over time.

4. Cross Street/State Street in Hanson – Local ecology and history, dams and their impacts.

All stations will be spread out to limit group sizes and provide socially distant educational opportunities.

Walk is free, registration is required. Families welcome!
