The Natural Beauty, Rich History and Fragile Ecology of the North and South Rivers

NSRWA volunteer Charlie Naff will present a virtual presentation on the natural beauty, rich history and fragile ecology of these rivers, which are recognized as Natural National Landmarks. The North River is the only Scenic Protected River in Massachusetts. The estuaries of these tidal rivers with their salt marshes serve as nurseries to many marine and bird species.

You will hear about a thriving ship building industry dating back as early as 1645 and learn about the NSRWA’s efforts in education, engagement, advocacy, and river restoration projects to protect these natural treasures.
