Have you stopped by Hanover Crossing to see our Let Our Rivers Flow mural? We’d love it if you did! The 40’ x 10’ mural depicts the North River, the Washington Street Bridge, and the diverse, vibrant species that call our rivers home. To encourage visitors to look closely, it also includes a Scavenger Hunt! See if you can find all of the different plants and animals in the mural. For an extra challenge, try to identify at least one thing in the mural that starts with each letter of the alphabet.

To spread awareness of the mural, we’re launching a selfie contest. We hope you will join us and let your creativity run wild! Visit the mural and spend some time noticing all the plants, animals, and other features depicted in it by local artists Sally Dean Mello and Cathy McCarthy. Then let yourself be inspired! What would make a fun selfie? To have the river in the background? A bird sitting in your hand? A frog kissing your cheek?

How it works:

  1. Visit our Let Our Rivers Flow mural at Hanover Crossing (1775 Washington Street, Hanover, near Macy’s and Playa Bowls).
  2. Take a selfie – a photograph of yourself incorporating the mural or an aspect of the mural.
  3. Share your selfie! Post it on Instagram and/or Facebook with the hashtag #LetOurRiversFlow and tag us @northsouthrivers. Not on social media? Email it to kezia@nsrwa.org. We’ll share all submissions on our social media channels. Plus, each month we’ll randomly select a winner to receive a NSRWA prize package. You’ll find the contest rules here.
