Hersey Field is a small park on Thaxter Street with 2 Little League baseball fields, an open grassy area, picnic tables, and a small fenced-in playground designed for children ages 5-12.

Features

The fenced-in playground has a gate that closes securely.

This land is within the region of the Massachusett (or Massachuseuk). To learn more about local Native American tribes, we encourage you to interact with their members. The Massachusett tribe at Ponkapoag and the Mattakeeset band of the Massachusett share information on their websites.

Habitats and Wildlife

This grassy field has some trees around its perimeter — mostly maples and oaks. The property is within the watershed of Hingham Bay. Waters and streams here flow eastward and empty into Hingham Harbor.
