The HOPS Playground in Halifax features a large fenced-in play area for preschool and elementary aged children. The surface is a combination of wood chips and rubber. Also known as the Halifax Open Play Space, it is located next to the Holmes Library in Halifax. The Halifax Central Athletic Facility, which offers an additional playground during non-school hours, along with athletic fields and facilities, is just down the road.
Features
This playground features swings, slides, climbing structures, a biplane, a seesaw, a tunnel, a “treehouse,” benches, a shade structure, and trash receptacles. It was established in 2019, thanks to a 6-year fundraising effort by Friends of HOPS Playground.
