Rockland Veterans Memorial

10 Taunton Ave, Rockland, MA 02370, USA

Owned By: Town of Rockland

The Rockland Veterans Memorial is a small memorial park that honors Rockland-based soldiers from all branches of the Armed Services. Located at Veterans Memorial Stadium, at Rockland High School.

Features

This land is within the region of the Massachusett (or Massachuseuk). To learn more about local Native American tribes, we encourage you to interact with their members. The Mattakeeset band of the Massachusett, and the Massachusett tribe at Ponkapoag, both share information on their websites.

Habitats and Wildlife

This memorial is mostly granite and concrete, with some grassy sections. Like most of Rockland, the land here drains to French’s Stream, which flows into the Drinkwater River within Forge Pond Park in Hanover. After passing through Forge Pond and Factory Pond, the Drinkwater turns east and is known as the Indian Head River. It joins Herring Brook in Pembroke and Hanover to form the North River, which flows 12 miles through Hanover, Pembroke, Norwell, Marshfield, and Scituate, to the Atlantic Ocean.
