Habitats and Wildlife
This open, grassy property has some oak trees along one side and a few scattered glacial erratic boulders. The park is located within the watershed of the Mill River.
The Mill River flows out of Weymouth’s Great Pond and continues northeast through Weymouth to Whitman’s Pond. It is a headwater to the Weymouth Back River, which flows for about 10 miles and empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Hingham Bay, downstream of the park, and just south of Grape Island and Slate Island.
