Water Wise focuses on the importance of water conservation, identifying problems affecting local waters, exploring solutions for water conservation, engaging in citizen science activities related to water conservation, and developing action plans to implement water-wise practices. Our goal is for students to become more aware of important environmental issues, such as water shortages and declining natural habitats; and to empower them to identify and implement solutions for climate resilience.
This module includes the following tools for educators correlated to MA Science standards: interactive lesson slideshows with accompanying note templates, creative writing assignments and options for assessment. Student activities will feature a water conservation game, figuring out their own water footprint, a water quality lab, and more.
